Ruffles for Spring

One of the biggest feminine trends this Spring is ruffles.  They were incorporated into almost everything!   I think it’s always nice to temper one extreme with its opposite and this beautiful dress by Susana Monaco does just that.  The soft, fluid ruffles flow from the shoulder, across the chest and down the side of this beautiful silk dress (the one shoulder feature hits on another trend); but the femininity is tempered by the more masculine grey color.  A subdued riverstone adds drama and some formality to this great party/wedding dress.  Also, being grey it will transition nicely into fall and beyond (not just limited in color to springtime).  Seaming down the bodice helps reinforce the shape and adds structure, while the cocktail length keeps things light.
