Mad for Madison Marcus

Our first Spring 2010 Madison Marcus delivery has arrived!  It features some of the easiest trends this season.  First, the relaxed, slouchy pant.  This olive green belted twill pant will be your go-to piece for weekend wear and saucy nights out alike.  Easy to dress up or down it is versatile and comfortable.   The twill is a light fluid material that works well with the “paper bag” waistline and the rolled buttoned cuffs.  There are pockets on the seams at the sides as well as one back slash pocket and one cargo pocket on the right hand thigh.  We pictured it here with a sexy close fitting top from Susana Monaco.  Talk about utilitarian chic!

One could also easily pair this with a simple button up, a tailored jacket, or even a basic tee.  It works with it all!

The next spring trend that Madison Marcus nailed is the whole Americana mood that played big on the runways.  Americana doesn’t necessarily mean dressing in red, white, and blue (though it can); it basically suggests easy sportswear with a fresh American feel.  In this case, Madison Marcus utilizes black stripes in easy t-shirt form but with a refined silk.  A simple patch pocket keeps things interesting while a light shoulder pad helps in maintaining shape (don’t be afraid- the shoulder pad isn’t pronounced, though a strong shoulder is still very current). The third offering from this Madison Marcus delivery brings in some of that lovely spring color.  Appropriately named sherbet, this pink layered tank is playful yet still maintains some edge with the help of a zipper.  While not for everyone, zippers add a little personality and a little punch to otherwise feminine pieces.  Both this layered tank and the striped tee play on another trend for spring which is the cropped top.  I’m not talking ’80’s cropped with exposed belly buttons. No.  These tops are much more wearable than their cousins from “that” decade.  They are cut just a sch-midge shorter than tops from recent seasons making them appear, actually, slightly more modern.  Luckily, the fit of both of these offerings is loose and relaxed- no six-pack required.  Both tops are casual, but being constructed in silk have the appeal of being slightly more dressed up, or put together.  Fear not, have fun with your fashion and come try them on!
