Five outta five fashion experts agree: Leather is back in a big way, and not just for fall and winter. An investment this season in a dracula-meets-drapery leather jacket or some leather-like leggings — particularly those that manage to look ladylike andtough-as-nails within the same outfit — will take you far. Mark our words.

At Veridis, owner/buyer Stephanie Bohn is a spirited example of theseleather-crazy authorities. She reports that the material, andsome fine fakes, make up her favorite looks for fall (she’s in good company; Neiman Marcus’s Ken Downing told me the same thing this summer).

When I visited her last week, she pointed me toward four key pieces: a gray jacket, a pair of leggings in what has become one of my favorite neutral shades, a pair ofleather-like leggings, and some treated jeans that have a leather-like   look. You can check them out in the slideshow here.

If you’ve got leather on the brain, you should also check out the leggings in our fall fashion editorial.
